​Bianca Bagatourian is a graduate of The ArtCenter College of Design and also the Brooklyn College Playwriting MFA Program, under lifetime Obie-winning playwright, Mac Wellman. She is a playwright  whose works center on human rights themes while pushing the boundaries of theater. Her play, THE TIME OF OUR LIES, based on the works of noted historian, Howard Zinn, was co-produced by Viggo Mortensen and supported by Eddie Vedder, Tim Robbins, Diane Lane, Tom Shadyac and the Zinn Estate. It ran at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe where it was nominated for the Amnesty International "Freedom of Expression" Award. THE TIME OF OUR LIES then premiered at the Park Theatre,  London,  2019, to great reviews. Her play, REMNANTS OF A LIQUID WORLD, about the Iranian revolution of 1979 focused on the injustices experienced  by the children of the time. It was presented at both the Ohio Theater in NYC and the Pasadena Playhouse.  Currently, she is working on a play about the Armenian genocide, THE LEFTOVERS, based on 800 hours of survivor testimonies as well as OPERATION AJAX about the 1959 overthrow of Mohammad Mossadagh, Iran's first democratically elected prime minister in Iran.
Bianca also ran an arts non-profit for 15 years during which she administered the $10,000 SAROYAN HUMAN RIGHTS PLAYWRITING AWARD between 2007-2010.
In the world of film, Bianca produced a feature in 2015, THE BEAUTIFUL ONES and is currently working on a feature slated to be produced in the summer of 2026. Her two pilots are in various stages of development at several streaming studios.

"I like to explore the space between p and q ad infinitum. Language alone limits our thoughts. I look for relationships between context and the way the text looks on a page. Intuitively,  I cannot write without drawing, It is the same to me. Both tell stories. And locating those in-between places that can tell a story better is my aim. Explorations and evaporations of the written word. Mad monologues which allow the mind to wander. Hallucinatory worlds that translate in flesh. Just as the audience is one with the art they are witnessing, I believe that the text is one with the story it is telling. So why not let the text swell with pride, burn with color and freeze with temperature?​"
